don’t know exactly what is going on but the wallet is important to me and all of a sudden multiple new addresses are appearing as generated by that wallet. all with 0 balances???

Your 12 word passphrase is the seed from which all these addresses are determined. In fact an infinite amount of addresses can be generated.
Did you click ‘Create new Address’ several times? It just means that the wallet displays more of these addresses.
