Hi,
I placed a market sell order for SWARMPRE and 3 days later it still shows open… even though now there are BUY orders for a higher price. Also, I can’t cancel the transaction either as it seems I need to send more BTC to my account again
I really don’t get this
My Open Orders
Type Price [BTC/SWARMPRE] Amount [SWARMPRE] Total BTC Completion
Action SELL 0.000182 1472.52747253 0.268 0.00% Cancel
And now there are buy orders for 0.000191
Later, after sending 0.01 BTC to my CP address from a different wallet it shows this:
My Trades History
Type Block Time Price BTC Amount [SWARMPRE] Total BTC Status
SELL 2014/07/31 04:27:45 PM +02:00 0.000182 54.94615384 0.0100002 pending
My Open Orders
Type Price [BTC/SWARMPRE] Amount [SWARMPRE] Total BTC Completion Action
SELL 0.000182 1417.58131869 0.2579998 3.73% Cancel
So now instead of getting the 0.01 BTC from my wallet, exactly 0.01 BTC worth of SWARMPRE have been sold and that is the balance of my CP BTC wallet (the transaction I sent however seems to have evaporated into thin air)
Am I missing anything?
Cheers

When your order is matched, then your offer and the other party’s offer are placed in escrow and wait for settlement.
If one of the sides has insufficient amount of tokens to pay or maybe logs out, then the DEX will keep the order pending for 20 blocks and return the tokens to each side minus the transaction fee charge (and I think a small penalty for the side that didn’t pay).
XCP can’t “disappear” if transaction hasn’t been completed.
“even though now there are BUY orders for a higher price”: well now is now, and then was then. Your sell order was probably matched before and it’s now stuck waiting for the other guy to show up (and he may not show up), so if that’s what happened with your order you’ll get your tokens back when that order expires (20 blocks from the time it was matched which you can see in address History or elsewhere), until then they’re held in escrow and can’t be sold again (to these current bidders).
Due to the nature of Counterparty not having direct control of people’s wallets, the DEX doesn’t work and can’t work the same way as centralized exchanges.
Check these forums and the Wiki and if you can’t use these tools to check what’s going on with your ballance paste here your address.

Thanks,
so when the order actually gets matched, I have to wait for the other party to pay his BTC/XCP or otherwise it will get cancelled. I guess this is what happened to this 3.73% of my order that now doesn’t show up any longer (completion 0% again).
However, the original buy order for 1472.52747253 SWARMPRE at 0.000182 BTC/SWARMPRE is still there, and it never actually seems to get matched with my sell order. It has been like this for 3-4 days now (way more than 20 blocks). Other orders are being matched for higher prices but not mine (my order doesn’t show up in the orderbook at all).
Should I just cancel the order and place a new one? Also, does a fee get charged even if the transaction doesn’t complete (as I was asked to put more money into my wallet in order to be able to cancel it at all).
I can’t track my balance on blockscan as it only shows XCP, not BTC. My CW address is 19FviQGN1QdcSXEFabHMPv47zuwaMuRMKi
Cheers
P.D.: sorry for the odd formatting, I actually tried to remove all formatting from my message but it somehow got right-aligned!
Okay, that’s probably enough detail for further troubleshooting.
I’ll try to get someone who knows more about the DEX to look into this.
