Greece’s Yanis Varoufakis prepares for economic siege as companies issue private currencies

Businesses in Thessaloniki and other parts of the country are already
creating parallel private currencies to keep trade alive and alleviate
an acute shortage of liquidity.

Will be interesting to watch how they do that. I expect it’s not practical yet to use cryptocurrency but imagine a world in which they did. CounterParty would be an option?

Great news! It’s funny how the very next paragraph is about a paper factory that’s running out of raw materials, then after that about scrip money. My conclusion: issue a currency that requires no paper!

It seems Counterpartiers are ready for the same move by their Central Bank should the referendum go the way YV wants :wink:
