- I configured Bitcoin-Qt with Counterpartyd
- I want to load a some XCPs into my Bitcoin-QT
I read how it’s done by importing a wallet’s private key from elsewhere.
Is it not possible to create and “create” an empty Counterparty wallet locally, import it to Bitcoin-Qt and send XCPs to this new address?

Sorry, I don’t really understand your question. Are you asking whether there is a Desktop version of Counterwallet available? That is actually in the works, though not yet available, I believe.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding how this works, but here (upercase formatting is author’s) halfcab123 says “IF YOU DO NOT IMPORT ADDRESSES WITH XCP INTO BITCOIN-QT/BITCOIND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THOSE XCP VIA COUNTERPARTYD!”.

I thought that means that Bitcoin-Qt can be used to manage your Counterparty coins (a sort of combined bitcoin and “Counterwallet” wallet).
What I am asking is can’t I create an empty wallet on my desktop and then send to it XCP from my online wallet (as opposed to exporting/importing private keys for address originated on blockchain or somewhere)?
If there’s an easier way to create a local XCP wallet, I’d use it (does testnet also require this export/import stuff?).
I am just looking for a way to send a very small amount (like 1 XCP) to this testbed to play with XCP and don’t want to import a real wallet with 100+ XCPs here.

You can simply send XCP to a Bitcoin-Qt address from an address in your web wallet, if that is what you mean? But you obviously can’t send XCP from blockchain.info to Bitcoin-Qt.
If you are running counterpartyd locally, you can also make transactions from an address that is not in your Bitcoin-Qt wallet; simply enter the address as your [tt]source[/tt], then Counterpartyd will ask you to enter the private key (make sure it’s in Bitcoin-Qt format), and you’re good to go.
Does that help?
Yes, that’s what I was aiming at, thank you.
Almost there!
