Counterparty could see Colored Coins

The Counterparty Protocol could see Colored Coins. (The inverse is possible too but impractical).

What advantages are there to the Counterparty Protocol and clients acknowledging Colored Coins? The Counterparty Protocol could assign a corresponding token with identical balance to addresses holding Colored Coins. And an avenue to upgrade/transition from the Colored Coins protocol(s) to the Counterparty Protocol could be provided.

This would actually be interesting if someone develops something like this, I don’t feel that the main developers of Counterparty would do this, but some third party independent coder could for sure make a wallet that could see colored coins, at least in theory.
