i am looking for some information of how counterparty works.
I understand that bitcoin works by writing a ledger.
I also understand that counterparty is using this ledger for things like asset transfers or creation.
I dont understand how the DEX works or how bets work etc.
I don’t understand how this can be solved via the ledger, so there must be some software that runs somewhere. Where, how does this work. Who is matching and actually transfering assets from one address to another.
Is there a description out there about this?

In other words to my question above: what is the protocol and who runs it.
It is hard to see the bitcoin miners doing this so how does this work??? Are there seperate servers, and if so who are running those and why? What is the incentive. Are the clients doing this?

They seem to have mistakenly written that Counterparty uses its own blockchain. I've already emailed them, but it wouldn't hurt if more people brought it to their attention.
